The 2009 school year has begun!
Every year on the leadership team, each team (Purple, Black, White, Silver) has a class they take to be eligible for the Minor in Leadership Studies. For the third year team (Silver), this year is the Leadership Research Class. This class allows the team to study the effects of leadership in connection with something they are passionate about.
Kaydee Johnson, Third Year Member, puts it this way, “This class is an opportunity for us to become acquainted with deep research, particularly in the study of leadership. As well as, an opportunity for us to explore our passions that we hope to pursue following our time at SC."
Kaydee is working to explore leadership and her passion for social entrepreneurship. She is looking closely to see how servant leadership and creativity play a role in making social change through the use of entrepreneurial tactics.
Dr. Cheryl Rude guides these students in the formation of the final product of their paper which can end up being upwards of 35 pages. This opportunity gives our students in leadership a unique opportunity to do one assignment and to do it well. Upon finishing the paper, students can try to get their paper published in an academic journal.
