Leadership Southwestern Plans Fall Fundraiser

Students from Leadership Southwestern will be out and about in Winfield raking leaves to raise money for their service trip to San Diego. The first workday will take place on October 10, 2009. Students will be taking donations for yard cleanup as residents prepare for the winter months.

This is a new opportunity for students to interact in the community during the Fall months, but also a great way for them to have one more opportunity to raise funds for their January trip.

The students will promote the new look of the college as an evironmentally sound institution by hauling all materials to the compost facility located in West Winfield which is provided by the City of Winfield. This facility helps the community by creating a safe and environmentally friendly area for limbs, leaves, and other yard waste. It also keeps a running pile of wood chips and compost for residents and students to use when working in their personal gardens.
