Southwestern Ships are a'sailin' to San Diego!
In January, the Southwestern Leadership team will travel to San Diego to complete a service trip that centers on the team theme this year of "Where the Wild Things Are"
While in San Diego, the team hopes to learn what service looks like in the wild. Contributing to possible positive efforts of beach clean-up, trail work, and other outdoor service opportunities this year's service work will be a venture to be remembered!
Each year Leadership Southwestern takes time to open the eyes of studying students to the opportunities of service in different and unique settings. In the past 3 years, students have traveled to do service work in the Dominican Republic, Atlanta GA, and even locally to Greensburg, KS.
At Southwestern, servant leadership is not only embraced by the Leadership team, but also by the college as a whole. The school's vision reads:
Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, is a learning community dedicated to:
Intellectual growth and career preparation
Individual development and Christian values
Lifetime learning and responsible citizenship
Leadership through service in a world without boundaries
